Hi there friends, I figured it was about that time again to throw up some more updates on how things are going and where this God adventure is taking me. Before I give you present day updates, let me tell you a little bit about my time in Romania and all that has transpired since then.
So in Romania, we had a big ministry focus on the Gypsy people of that country. We spent a good amount of time visiting local villages, even had a summer camp program we put together that had kids from villages far and wide outside the city of Bucharest leave their home, often for the first time to take part. It was a fun time of games and food and learning about the love of God.
One of the many things on my to o list on this amazing trip is to get to drive in every country I go to. Yes, drive, if you know me, you know I love me my cars, and I love to drive even more, especially when it’s a new experience…Already kinda missed one country though, but still looking to make it happen in the others to come. In that regard, It was a total blessing to be used as driver extraordinaire, helping with shuttling kids to and from the many villages outside of Bucharest, often in far remote areas…although sometimes tiring, I totally loved it!!
All in all, Romania offered a pretty interesting time of ministry, but it was also a good teaching period that showed me how ministry will not always look like I expect and further it drove the idea of ditching my expectations and searching God’s heart in every situation I find myself. You see the part I left out is that our time in Romania (especially the 1st month) was also filled with sorting loads and loads of boxes filled with used clothes for babies, boys, girls, men, woman and every other type person in between. There was a lot of lifting and digging and weeding (by hand – wish I had b4 and after pics) and all other type things that would not always be categorized as “ministry”. So yea, it was a very cool time of God changing and remolding mindsets, further introducing me to his heart.
Our last week was spent in Brasov with 3 other squads that were all currently on the race, two of them just getting started and one on their last leg, filled with tons of amazing tales of God’s adventurous soul. This was a really cool time to get refreshed and swap experiences, encouraging one another.
During this time of refreshment, I was reminded of the task ahead of us and when all said and done, the fact is we win this thing. I was reminded that God is seeking members of that 42nd Generation that will go boldly where others fear to tread. That will bring God’s kingdom and Will to earth, as it exists in Heaven, that 42nd generation that will go claim their inheritance and will settle for no less. Oh yea, it was an awesome time of just seeking God’s face and going back to the basics of his heart. And you best know it, I’M GOING TO GET MY INHERITANCE.
This time in Romania was also the beginning of the reshuffling of teams on my squad. For one, I was asked to step down as team leader, with the idea that I’d be more effective or serve better as a teammate. It was a little bit of a hard transition point for me as I wasn’t quite in agreement with the thought or decision, probably harder than I originally thought, but the Lord gave me words that have given me a peace with encouragement and its been just another great opportunity for God to come through and teach and show himself faithful. Anyway, more to come…
