Hey friends! I think it’s time we talk. Not like one of those serious talks but kind of like those mid-afternoon coffee dates featuring sprinkles and whipped cream. So sit down and let me update you about my God driven journey.

We are going to do this Q&A style.

What is the World Race?

It is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries to serve “the least of these.” Its being Salt and light, while gaining experience on the mission field. It is Discipleship in real and raw community.

Where are you going and when do you leave?

I was originally supposed to launch in January of 2018 but I will now officially be leaving in August of 2018. The countries I am being sent to are:

Haiti, The Dominican Republic, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, India, Nepal, Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, and Serbia

Will you be praying for each of these countries and the people I will encounter?

Do you feel called to go on The World Race?

As a believer we are told to go and share the gospel. I think as believers we get caught up in the word “Called” as if God has to hand deliver our invitation to go. But He already has. In Matthew 28, He tells us to go and make disciples of all the nations. Am I saying that everyone needs to drop everything and head off to Africa – no. I do believe that some must stay and some must go. If you are willing to go, then GO! You need to keep moving forward. As believers we are here on kingdom business only, the rest of it doesn’t matter.

How are you paying for this?

Entirely through your support. You all have helped me reach $5,139 so far and I know you will help me reach my full goal of $18,100 by August.

PS: I know if you look up at the bar it definitely does not say $5,139. It takes awhile to update.

Where does the money go?

What will you do when you get there?

Each day on the race will look a little bit different. Some days we may be teaching English others we may be building a church. It all is based on the needs in that community.

Are you sure this isn’t some millennial vacation?

When I first decided to apply for the race I was thinking about how cool it would be to travel the world for a year and then reality set in. While I was thinking hotels, hostels, and beautiful Instagram photos, the race offers tents and squatty potties. I will repeat squatty potties. What I’m saying is despite John Crist’s millennial missionary video (which is hilarious) I’m not one to willingly live in a tent if it wasn’t for a REALLY good reason. If it wasn’t about kingdom business. I’m choosing things of eternal significance verses earthly goods – literally – Hence the 40lb pack that must fit all my needs for a year.

What are you doing until you leave?

I will continue to work as a children’s librarian and spend quality time with friends and family. I also have been very fortunate to be discipled by an amazing woman of God who is helping prepare my heart for what I may face.

How do I donate?

Currently there are a few options:

First, you have the choice of online donations or donations by check.

If you are an online donor, simply click the “Donate!” button in the header of my blog! If you would rather pay via check, send me a text or message and I would be glad to get the proper form to you! All donations are tax-deductible!

If you choose to donate online, you can be a monthly donor or a one-time donor. If you feel that you can commit to partnering with me monthly, you are able to do an automatic transaction through your account. If you are a one-time donor, it is super easy! Just enter in your information and you will receive an email receipt!

If you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to ask!

My new fundraiser campaign is Jars of Change.

It’s really easy! Just pick any of the below countries:

Haiti, The Dominican Republic, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, India, Nepal, Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, and Serbia

Let me know which one you picked!

I will send you a label – and a jar if you do not have one.

This is a great family fundraiser! Allow your kids to be a part of the journey. Once its filled let me know and I will come pick it up. Watch how much of a difference your change can make!
