I graduated from SHSU and am excited for the new season ahead.

I’ve now reached 22% of my total fundraising goal! My deadline dates are as follows:
$5,000 – Due 9/23/2016 (Fundraising Goal 1)
$10,000 – Due 12/16/2016 (Fundraising Goal 2)
$13,000 – Due 2/28/2017 (Fundraising Goal 3)
$17,417 – Due 4/30/2017 (Fundraising Goal 4)

In addition to the numerous individual gifts, I have four donors who’ve joined my group of monthly supporters. If you’re still praying about giving, the monthly giving plan is a good way to lessen the impact on your budget. One donor shared that they didn’t think they would be able to give very much, until they remembered the monthly plan. Again, it’s very humbling for me to ask this because I know money is tight for everyone. However, knowing that people are willing to adjust their budgets for a few months and feel good about making a donation is extremely encouraging to me.

Also, as an update to my first fundraiser, I sold seven of the keyrings/necklaces. I have a few left that are still for sale. I’m working on some repurposed wood projects and coaster sets (made by me) that will be for sale soon. I’ve been thankful for the opportunity to tap into my passion for creativity and see it being used in this season of life. It’s personally been a blessing for me to be able to work on these projects, as I’ve always felt like my art is a way to worship God and give back to Him; my prayer is that it will bless others as well.

A few people have made checks out to me, and that’s fine to do if you don’t care about the tax credit. If it’s more comfortable to write a check to me then I’ll cash it, put it in an account, and will add it to my goal needed.

As I’ve reread this blog, I realize it’s all about money, which, to be honest is pretty depressing to me. I’ve been looking for a job and am a little discouraged about that right now. I’m asking for prayer for a place of employment to open soon.

I want to end with one of my favorite Bible verses that I find encouraging:

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” II Cor. 4:7

Much love,

Ariane
