I recently “Liked” the page Humans of New York on Facebook and have daily been sharing about the posts with my teammates. Laughing along with the funny one liners, giving an “aww” at the cute stories, and ultimately just really enjoying seeing little glimpses of the people that live in this gigantic world that I will probably never meet in my life.

As I was talking about the page yesterday, my teammate Kait said, “What if we made a Humans of World Race page?” and I immediately jumped on board with her.

What a unique opportunity we have as World Racers right now on the field. We are meeting all types of different people. Street vendors, prostitutes, men and women in rehab, teenagers in gangs, orphans, Americans with businesses, with m*inistries… all beautiful people with beautiful stories.

And we get to meet them.

Sometimes we get to spend a month developing deep relationships with God’s children in these various countries. But sometimes it’s a once in a lifetime chance meeting. A quick conversation or exchange of broken English words. A small smile or wave.

All of these moments are what create the World Race.

So why not share them all? Not just the “blog-worthy” stories or people, but about all the incredible interactions we are blessed to have because our Father has called us to this journey?

So World Racers! Go ahead and “Like” the newly created Humans of World Race page and start posting! The page is a place for all World Racers (past, present, and future) to post about those small instances where we interact with His children we might otherwise never know.

What we’re doing is a beautiful thing filled with not only the “blog-worthy” moments, but packed with day-to-day God moments.

“While sitting at Burger King in Vietnam, I witnessed this man outside the window laying hands, and praying for a Vietnamese woman. I instantly smiled inside knowing that even in a closed country, our Father is all around us. So of course I took out my phone and snapped a creeper shot..” – Kaitlin Backensto

“I used to be a bad bad kid. I was a killer, an addict, a thief. But seven years ago I gave my life over to Chr*st, and I thank Him every day for the amazing change He has done in my life.”
