When I first felt God calling me to the World Race,
I was skeptical.
Not because of the organization, but because I thought maybe it was my own desires, and not GOD’s calling.
After doing some research, I realized it was most definitely not my desires.
Let’s just say, I’m not much of a camper.
It thrills me for a few days, but then I want my bed and a nice warm shower.
Those will be rare luxuries in the world race –
so don’t sign me up for a year without comfort.
I kept feeling a tugging on my heart to apply –
because our God and his love are relentless.
So I took a leap of faith, and everything fell into place quicker than I could ever imagine.
AND HERE I AM, ON MY OFFICIAL WORLD RACE BLOG.
WHAT?!?!?!?!?
Okay, God.
Here I am.
Send me.
I say that because I know God is good,
and his plan is better than mine.
That doesn’t make this easy.
Actually,
I AM FREAKIN TERRIFIED.
I was reading packing blogs, and I need to bring lice medication.
WHY DO I NEED LICE MEDICATION?!
I obviously need a tent….because sometimes when we sleep on floors, there will be rodents. We need a tent so that rats don’t crawl on you during the night. HA HA HA I LOVE RATS CRAWLING ON ME.
I need to pack a year’s life supply into a backpack. One single backpack.
The girly girl in me cringes.
There will be weeks when I can’t shower.
There will be weeks where I have no access to internet.
There will be weeks that I’ll wonder what the heck I’m doing.
But it all comes down to one thing –
There are people who have never heard the good news.
This makes my heart beat faster. Everyone needs to know. I need to tell them. Tell them about this overflowing joy, an overwhelming love, tell them that they are adopted sons and daughters of the greatest Father, tell them of an EVERLASTING HOPE,
a constant love,
satisfying love,
such a beautiful love.
They NEED to know.
So I’m leaving my comfort behind for 11 months, in the name of Jesus.
In the name of Jesus, I will go and tell of his grace and mercies.
THEY NEED TO KNOW.
