Oh Cambodia! You were super hot for me and I’m from Florida. Florida has nothing compared to your heat.
This month my team and I taught English at New Hope Christian School. It was hard teaching English at a school where it isn’t being enforced. At the beginning of the month, I personally had a hard time with that. I didn’t have a good attitude with it at all, I think because I compared the ways I learned English myself. I had to step back and refocus my mindset and rethink what I was actually here to do.
I signed up for this journey to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and I began to lose this focus. After refocusing my thoughts and realizing why I am here, I started to love on the students and show Jesus’ love through me.
New Hope Christian School was founded by Sarith Outh in 2012. Sarith has a big vision for this school. Not only do the students learn English, they learn about Jesus as well.
While we were there, Sarith had shared with us that it is probably going to be the last month they will have students there because they don’t have funding for the school. The team and I decided to raise some funding before we had to leave the ministry site. Within two weeks, we raised $1,200. Because of that, the school will be open for an additional two months after we leave.
If you can help in any way to assist New Hope Christian School and give these students new hope, new life and a new future, please feel free to donate at [email protected].
