Today, I made another big decision.

I decided to change routes.

What does that mean?

  • It means I'm not going to the same countries anymore.
  • It means I'm going to 4 continents instead of 3.
  • It means my squad, and the people I've been slowly getting to know online over the past several weeks have changed.
  • It means embracing change, discarding comfort, and filling a need.

And I'm thrilled.

It's great news, really — so many people have signed up for the 4 different routes that were already planned for launch in January, that it was causing problems. Too many people would be in each country at a time, and maximal effectiveness would be lost. So to balance things out, AIM created a fifth route, and asked people to volunteer to change to the new route. Because of it, many more lives will be reached, changed, and ministered to.

At first, I felt rather indifferent about changing routes. But as time went on, not enough men were switching routes, which would in result in teams of all girls. There is nothing wrong with that in premise, but many countries are still very patriarchal and do not respond well to women. Women can be ignored or disregarded or even looked down upon if they are without a male chaperone. It's a hard reality but a reality nonetheless. So I felt inspired to change!

My new route is (tentatively) as follows:

  • Honduras – January
  • Guatemala – February
  • El Salvador – March
  • Albania – April
  • Bulgaria – May
  • Malawi – June
  • Zambia – July
  • Mozambique – August
  • Thailand – September
  • Cambodia – October
  • Malaysia – November

Central America (North America), Africa, Europe, and Asia — Four continents, eleven countries. I can't wait to see what God will do.
