What does the World Race REALLY look like?  You hear the stories of sleeping in mud, underground churches, squatty potties, eating dog, seeing limbs grow back, big big bugs, months without internet, rats larger than your little brother, etc.

Well, actually, those are pretty accurate.  But it’s actually better than that.  We’re chasing after something.  We’re desiring something so badly that the mud, rats and weird food go unnoticed (after the initial shock, of course.)  We’re pressing in so hard to get a new life, to go to a new level.

We’ve heard a whisper.  We’ve heard there might be a life of miracles and that it might actually be intended for us to have.  And we’re desperate for it!  I’ve found it, and I want to tell you something.  It’s REAL.  It’s NOT just for “super special spiritual people.”  It’s intended for YOU.  The gifts of the Spirit STILL exist.  And they’re intended for YOU.  Don’t let anyone or anything tell you otherwise.  Allow me to demonstrate…

A normal day of the race could include any/all of the following:

*Seeing the Lame Walk – We met a woman walk who could not walk due to extreme back pain.  When we finished praying she began to walk around her house.

*Immediate Answers to Prayer – We’ve prayed for specific amounts of money in our support accounts and received them the next day!

*Angels Singing – We heard them during worship.

*Miraculous Healing – I’ve been instantly healed of stomach pains while in Cambodia.  We’ve also seen people healed of infections and stomach problems.

*People Enter the Kingdom – We’ve seen many people accept Christ or rededicate their lives and walk in it.

*People Freed of Demons – We’ve seen demons manifest and leave people.  They’re completely different people afterward.  They don’t just act differently, they LOOK different!

*Visions – It’s a regular occurrence, both for us and people we pray for.  They see and encounter the deep deep love of God.

*Prophesy – Daily God shares with us who he desires us to be and the amazing things he has in store for us – through each other.

*Favor – We get free food and free entrance to places for no other reason than favor with the owners.  We get buses with AC and reclining seats when we should have had a school bus too small for all of us – all because we asked in prayer.  Teams get cupcakes in the middle of a Cambodian village because they asked in(a very non-serious) prayer.

I’ve actually seen all of these things happen.  They aren’t an exaggeration.  They’re intended to be part of the normal Christian life.  Sadly, we’ve begun to try to understand and reason out the Holy Spirit.  He won’t be kept in a box.  He never promises to be understood.  He promises to be our helper:  to bring us life and life to the fullest.  God gives us favor with those around us.  God pours out blessings on us not because of what we do but because of who he is.

He tells us we have not because we ask not.  Whatever we ask for in his name he will give us.  We’ve seen that over and over again (AC, cupcakes, healing, revelation, etc.)  We can have a life of miracles if we allow the Holy Spirit to work through us and to speak to us.  All we have to do is ask and receive.  A life of miracles and kingdom – it was all created for YOU.

And so I’ve come to the conclusion that I have THE BEST life.  Period.  Not because I’m traveling the world but because I’m living a life of kingdom, miracles, and the Holy Spirit.
