God LOVES to shower his favor and blessings on you. Did you know that? He loves it. He never gets tired of it – especially when you’re doing big crazy ground-taking kingdom things.
The best crazy things and favor comes when you listen to his voice and follow where he leads. Here’s a few crazy things that have happened to us since visiting the bars…
We’re invisible. Literally invisible. We visited a girl early one night. There were only a handful of customers on the entire street, and the girls were cleaning the bars for that evening. As we approached the bar we saw the owner sitting there, and we worried she might not let us sit and talk to the girl we knew. I prayed we’d be invisible to her – and we were! We spent 1 ½ hours talking and playing jenga with our girl. The entire time the bar owner was never more than 10ft away but she never saw us, made eye contact with us, or asked our girl to tend to other customers as they came. We had our girl’s undivided attention. We even got to meet her sister and minister to both girls.
We’ve prayed bars out of business. Well, only for a night or so. We prayer walk every afternoon before visiting the bars. One group of girls felt very strongly about praying over one particular bar. They asked that the men would not come that night so that they’d be free to spend time with our team. That night they went back and the bar was empty. Absolutely empty – while every bar surrounding it was packed. Once again our team had the undivided attention of the girls.
We’ve found the one in a million. This is my favorite story. There’s 1200+ girls working on Bangla Road each night and who knows how many 1000s of tourists. We’ve met one girl that God has marked. While praying before going out, we heard the name Siam. We looked at our prayer wall and saw that someone before us has met a girl named Siam in Bar Sydney. We went looking for her, but apparently she doesn’t work there anymore. So we wandered down the street until the Holy Spirit very strongly told us to go into another bar. We met a girl there and have fallen in love. She’s fluent in English and the funniest person I know. About the 3rd night of talking with her we found out that she’s been invited to our ministry before. We had no idea. Out of 1200+ girls God lead us THE one he’s marked ahead of time for his kingdom and glory. She has an incredible story…that God is waiting to redeem.
