Hola from Antigua, Guatemala!
Climbing a volcano, great worship, amazing guacamole, and team bonding are some of the highlights from this week. We’ve just finished launch training here, which means that we’ve been preparing for community living and service.

Our first squad memory in Guatemala is climbing Volcano Pacaya. We hiked up the volcano about 2 miles and made our way across the shifty lava rocks. Some of the rocks were so hot that they would slide and show the lava underneath. I was actually able to get close enough to the lava to roast marshmallows over it! Honestly, the best toasted marshmallows I’ve ever had! (I mean, I kind of did risk my life for them.)
Team Rhema is a great rainbow of personalities and gifts. We’ve bonded by cooking, giving personalized feedback each evening, and worshipping together. When we are together in front of the Lord there are very strong spirits of power and prophecy around us. All of my teammates have big, strong personalities and are challenging me to speak up.
We’ve had some awesome encounters with the Holy Spirit during worship too. It’s an amazing feeling to be drawn to God’s heart and have him delight in you. To have God’s favor, to ask for gifts, and to receive them is such an intimate feeling. My gifts of teaching and preaching have been affirmed by God through people around me, and others have been promised to me through prophecy. Get ready! God is only getting started with us! We’re in for quite a ride!
