Post-Race April:
Trying
to figure out how to live in America again! Moved back in with my
parents, taking a few classes in small business at community college,
trying to lose my 20 lbs of Race weight, training to be a Doula,
searching for community, and applying for jobs like crazy.
oh, and missing the World Race.

Pre- Race April:
Hello to my family, friends, supporters, and fellow World Racers!
I’m April, and I’m
super pumped about my journey with the WR January 2011. I am currently a
student at Texas A&M University in the thriving metropolis of Bryan/College
Station, TX, where I am antsy to finish my degree in Nutritional Sciences.

The day I got my Aggie Ring!
First of all, I am constantly surrounded by a community that love
and support me. This includes my family, wonderful friends, and the good people of Community Church. Shout out to the
Reeves and Stolz ComGroupies! I love sharing life with other people,
speaking into each others lives, and being witness to all the victories
of the Kingdom.

sisters (whenever they aren’t bossing me around!) and am going to miss
chatting on the phone with all members of the fam at any time of the
day. Yes, my sisters are twins and look nothing like me, but we ARE
related! Andrea graduated with a degree in Pyschology from the
University of Colorado in 2009 and Elisa will received her bachelor’s in
Social Work from the University of Texas in May 2010. They have two of
the CUTEST dogs in the world whom I adore and will miss dearly (Ellie Mae & Bentley)! I have
a a family full of love and support, and are learning more and more
each day how to communicate and love each other the best as possible.

Another big part of my life is Sky Ranch, a camping ministry that has sites in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. In the past summers of college, my life has been to love and serve well at Sky Ranch. Summers ’07 and ’08 consisted of being a Texas counselor to 9-13 year old girls; ranging from Bible study to being shot at by a paintball gun to being shaving creamed head to toe all for the glory of the Lord! I grew up going to Sky as a camper and it will always have a major part of my heart.

In summer 2009, I ventured out to their Colorado camp, Ute Trail
Ranch, to serve as head cook to their family, wilderness, and leadership camps
that they run out there. It was the most challenging work I have ever done, but
also the most rewarding. Being smack dab in the middle of mountains, aspen
trees, deer, and the Colorado sky made it easier to serve our beautiful Lord.

The only other international missions experience I’ve had is a trip with my home church, Bear Valley, to Hyderabad, India in my sophomore year of college. It opened my eyes to how much the rest of the world needs to hear the Good News and how I can be a part of that effort. I loved learning about a culture different from my own and loved receiving an accidental nicknamed “Apron”, which stuck with me the rest of the trip.
