This past weekend was spent at the Holiday Inn in Atlanta going over last minute information and spent worshipping God! We arrived in Guatemala City at 11:30 Tuesday morning and from there headed out to our mission host. We are staying at the AIM base in Antigua. The mission we are staying at is run by five former world racers who are just plain awesome. We have been ministering all throughout Antigua doing some door to door evangelism and getting to know the locals. Our team has been privileged to spend our first week in tents and limited access to wifi. It has been a real blessing to have five former world racers who have been through this before, be able to support and encourage us.

The first few days have been a struggle and a blessing all in one. God has been really working in my life in the area of slowing down and discovering him. Our team has had a lot of spare time and my attitude towards it has been one of being bored. God has been doing a real work in my life in this area, at home whenever I had a moment of boredom i would run to my phone, TV, or other form of technology. I have started to discover that these moments that I used to view as northing too important happing, are times where God wants us to spend with him. Getting away from being so connected has been so good for me and yet has been a big transition. God has been using these times for me to be ministered too by him. Our team has been really been challenged in the area of relying on God to give us great ministry opportunities. Gabe who is one of our hosts, is really been a blessing to me and Jayden. He has taken us both under his wing and has been pouring life into both of us. I am learning to wait on the Lord even through the mundane times and I know God has great things in store for Antigua, Guatemala!

On a side note, this weekend in Guatemala is their Independence Day, it has been so fun to be a part of the festivities. Tonight is the big celebration, we will find out if it compares anything to Canada day. Friday night we got to go to a Guatemalan circus which was a very interesting experience and one I will never forget. I am really so grateful that God gave me this chance to experiece him in Guatemala. I really appreciate everyones prayers and their support.
