Life in Africa is nothing like anything I have ever experienced, from the constant heat, to the crowds of kids that overwhelm you with hugs everyday, and constant cries of Muzungu! The first few weeks here has definitely taking some adjusting too, with our new teams and the different ministries we are a part of. God has been so faithful in giving me strength for all that he wants from me.

The biggest thing that God is walking me through right now is something our squad mentor said at our last debrief. He said “How you finish one season is how you will start the next”, that really hit me hard, because I know when I get home I want to be able to continue in all that God is teaching me. With only about 2 months left before I head back home I know God has so much more for me before then. Checking out is not an option, it never is in life even if it seems like the easier route.

We had team changes at the end of Thailand, it has been so great to build relationships with different people and see God working through each one of them. I am now on a team with four guys instead of just Jayden and I. Jayden and I grew so much together in the area of brotherhood and what it means to be men of God. I am so excited to experience that with Sam, Joshy and Aaron as well. I love each person on our team and the uniqueness each person brings to our team. I was given the privilege to be the team leader and really asking for all your prayers that I lead in a way fully surrendered to his will.

       Team Nehemiah

Five days a week our team goes and teaches at a local school with about 250 kids. I have had the privilege of teaching English and math to the grade 5 class. God is showing me a lot about patience and how much I love teachers. In the afternoons we play soccer and share Bible stories with all the kids we can round up.

I apologize that it has been so long since I have written a blog. I can’t believe its only two months left in this season of my life, sometimes that seems like an eternity, but i know it will fly by. As Trace Adkins would say, “You’re gonna miss this”, I want to soak up every minute here, because who knows if I will ever get the chance to live life like this again. Thank you once again for all your prayers and your interest in what God is doing in my life.
