Sarah’s Covenant Homes

We are extremely blessed to be here in Hyderabad, living and working with an amazing ministry this month. Sarah’s Covenant Homes (SCH) is for abandoned children with special needs in India. They rescue abandoned children with neurological and developmental special needs and provide them with love, education, therapy, medical and surgical care, and LIFE in Jesus.

The vision for Sarah’s Covenant Homes is to provide their children with the next-best thing to a traditional family. This means a huge amount of love, growth, laughter and nurture.

It is so encouraging to see that SCH is committed to their children and young adults and they kids will never “age out” of SCH and be sent to an institution or released to fend for themselves. SCH knows that they can never replace a loving biological or adoptive family and their prayer and desire is that many of their children would eventually be placed in wonderful adoptive families. (This is something you can be praying for or maybe even consider for yourselves!)

There are still plenty of kids that are in need of sponsorship. You can meet all the children on the webpage (http://www.schindia.com/) but let me introduce you to two precious little girls I’ve been spending time with.

Michele

Michele is close to eight months old and was warmly welcomed to SCH in February of this year. Her sweet spirit is captivating! She loves to be held, taken on walks and loves to play peek-a-boo! Michele is overcoming malnutrition due to the care of the SCH staff and is now gaining strength and learning to crawl. This is such an achievement and we can’t wait to see all the other milestones she will reach!

Ariana

Ariana is a precious three-year-old girl. She first came to SCH in January of 2014. Although she hasn’t been here very long, she is settling in as part of the family. Ariana has spina bifida and she came to SCH with myelomeningocele that had not been surgically corrected but she had surgery on 12 March. She walks well and doesn’t have hydrocephalus. Ariana is an absolute joy and delight! She is outgoing, energetic and brings so much life to the house. She has a smile that will melt your heart. Ariana loves to paint and draw as well as anything else creative. She also enjoys going to the children’s museum!
