This last month of ministry here in Thailand has been incredible. Don’t get me wrong I loved Cambodia, but ministry there was very different. There wasn’t a lot that needed to be done and the things we thought we were going to do continued to fall through. So that left me and my team with multiple hours of down time, which in hindsight was a wonderful thing. I got the time that i needed to dig into Gods word and truly understand the truths that God says about me. And I began to rebuke all of the lies that I believed for so many years. So yes, Cambodia was great for me spiritually and I am beyond grateful. But this month I am getting to love on girls and pour into them just like Jesus would do and He’s still growing me in my walk. All in all I’m getting the best of both worlds. I’m putting my faith to action and I’m still growing through that.
With all of that laid out, here is what a week looks like for me 🙂
Mon-Fri
6-6:30 am Wake- up
(yes, I am becoming more of morning person. I know shocking)
6:30- 7 am Start devotion.
7 am Breakfast TIME!
(Y’all these girls here are AMAZING cooks!!)
7:30-8:30 am finish devotion and plan for english class
8:45-9:15 am Game time.
(I have never seen a more competitive group of girls in my life!)
9:20- 10 am English class.
( I truly have the best class in the world. They love to sing and have fun)
10-11 am Down time which normally leads to more devotion time or laundry or cleaning
11-12pm Lunch TIME!
(Yet, again I could not praise them enough of their cooking. Defiantly 10/10)
12-2 pm planning time
(Typically during this time we plan as team for the next day)
2-3:15pm Teaching the girls worship songs and more games.
(They just learned Tremble by Mosaic. I might be a little bias but they killed it. Truly one of the greatest things to be apart of)
3:30-5pm Down time/team time/team devotion
5-5:30pm Dinner TIME!
(Y’all 10/10 never fails)
5:30-7pm Shower time and team feedback
7-8:15pm Worship time with the girls and staff
(on Tuesdays we lead the devotion time)
(Authentic time with the Lord in different languages. There’s nothing like it)
8:15-9pm Goodnight hugs and laughs with the girls.
9:15pm Peace out Girl Scouts its bed time 🙂
Repeat!
On the weekends its more laid back.
Saturdays are normally our off days where we typically end up at a coffee shop and drink way too much coffee but when you can get a large coffee for less than $2 why not. But on Saturday nights at 7 pm during worship time we lead the devotions.
Sundays are wonderful!!!
We have the same schedule in the mornings that we do during the week until 10
10 am Worship service with the girls and staff.
(This is a more formal worship service. Everyone is dressed in their nicest clothes. Typically we sing about 3 songs that have some type of dance move to it or we come up with our own and have a dance party. Normally about half way through the the songs we realize that we know them and we sing the parts we know to the top of our lungs with the girls. Then we do 2-3 slower songs and we always sing “Our God”. Through those times I have had some of the best worship, whether its dancing or simply falling to my knees and praise God with all that I have. After that some of the girls read different scriptures and say prayers and one of the staff members leads the devotion. Then different groups of girls come up and sing solos and do group performances for us. It’s truly one of the best times in the world.)
11-12pm Lunch TIME!
1-2:30pm Nap time!
(Sunday naps are always the best)
2:30-4pm Cleaning around the compound with the girls.
(More than likely this ends up in a water fight of some sort)
4-5pm Fresh-in-up
5-5:30pm Dinner TIME!
5:30-6:45pm Team time/ time devotions/feedback
7-8:15pm Worship service and Bible Trivia led by my team.
8:15-9pm Goodnight hugs and laughs with the girls.
9:15pm Peace out Girl Scouts your girls going to bed 🙂
I truly love every part of our ministry here. God knew that I needed that time in Cambodia to rest in Him so that I could be fully invested in what He has placed for us here. Thailand you are becoming a second home. “
