Each day the four of us girls switch off doing the dishes, with our students, after lunch, at our ministry. It’s one of my favorite times of the day. It gives us the chance to connect with our students. Most of the time I am helping with dishes I either learn some Khmer, sing or have a water war. So far I have learned how to say: hello, thank you, fork, spoon, knife, plate, I like it, you, help, rice and demon…most of the basics. We sing mostly songs by JB because for some reason his songs are the only ones I know by heart. Most days I get to English class just slightly drenched because I have been sprayed with a hose, or got water poured on me. Needless to say I love doing the dishes with my students.
P.S. mom, dad this is purely a Cambodia thing.
