I got a huge smile and a long stare when I first met little miss Leidi. She didn’t say much to start, but was comfortable enough with me to jump on my back and have me run around with her. She was constantly trying to braid my hair but found it very difficult to impossible due to my quickly forming dreads. Soon she started to tell me how she was 7 years old and has 9 siblings that live in Manantiales. The few hours I spent with her she showed her artistic abilities by using my arms and face as a canvas.
More and more she opened up and would grab me in order to dance with her or hold her. Each time another child would reach out for my affection she would shrink back; I would have to slowly beckon her back, and at the same time show that I was able to love her even when another wanted to be hugged or held.
I fell in love with every single child in Manantiales; every single one just wanted to be loved on. I am so grateful for the day I was able to spend with them and especially Leidi. These children are in great need of constant godly love and a safe place away from gang activities. I am so blessed to be able to pour myself out to them and in return having them love on me. They are truly amazing.

I am still fundraising and in need of about $3,500. If you are able and feel led by the Lord please donate.
