Let me tell y’all about some of the most incredible people in my life – my team. I’m going to be traveling with these women for eleven months, living in close quarters, learning literally everything there is to know about each other, and loving them more than I can imagine. Who are these lovely ladies I get the pleasure of spending the hardest year of my life with? I thought you’d never ask.
MEET DOMINIQUE. Or to us, DJ. Deej is one of the cutest people on this planet. She speaks in grunts and weird facial expressions 50% of the time, which makes talking to her so much more fun. She’s a huge animal lover, people lover, and Jesus lover; and an absolute blessing in everyone’s lives.
MEET OLIVIA. If you need someone to make you laugh, this is your girl. It’s not often you get to meet someone with a whit like Olivia’s. She’s hilarious, loving, genuine, and full of life, even when she’s running a fever.
MEET KATIE. This is the girl you go to when you need a hype man. She’ll back you up and stand by you through anything, and she knows how to beat people up so that’s really helpful.
MEET GRACE. This girl is literally always down for a dance party and her moves are killer. She’s always laughing and her laugh is literally contagious so it’s impossible to be anything but happy when you’re around her.
MEET CHRISTINE. She’s strong and gentle all at the same time. Even if she’s dealing with her own problems, she’ll gladly set it aside to help anyone else out with theirs. One of the kindest and funniest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Our team name is “Talitha Koum”. Mark 5:41 – “Then He took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).”
“Blessed” doesn’t do how I feel justice. I’ve known these girls for like 11 days and I can’t imagine NOT knowing them. Spreading the Good News with you guys by my side is a freakin’ dream come true. BLESS.
