*Warning* Long Post ahead, but before we get to that…
Let’s talk about Purchase with a Purpose! This annual market at Baker Memorial UMC is a great way to support farmers and artisans around the world, many of whom were brought out of dangerous circumstances to learn their trade. I will be selling refreshments at this event to raise money towards the Missions Trip. Take some to visit on Saturday, April Fourth from 10am-3pm, and be sure to pick up some coffee and baked goods from me while you’re browsing the market!
(See event flier below, and let the long post begin!)
As the weeks of winter creep onward and that blue bar on the top of my page rises higher, I am left realizing the finality of what I’m doing. Breaching the ten thousand dollar mark means that I’m going, I’m leaving. It’s no longer about the decision, and there’s no second guessing left to do. I feel confident in my next steps, and excited to prepare myself for the 9 months ahead of me.
I am in a similar state of mind regarding high school. I’ll be graduating this spring, and as slow as winter seems to be moving, I was very surprised to watch my calendar fill up with the dates of “lasts”. My last band concerts, my last school days, my last AP tests (yuck!), etc.
As everything piles up in a heap of dates, times, and commitments, there are times when I feel overwhelmed. I’ve lived through high school as a very, very busy person, and a lot of times I love it; I would rather be constantly on the move than have nothing to do. However, when your car starts to fill up with clothes from the amount of “costume changes” you go through in a day to fulfill the requirements of each commitment, you kind of realize there’s an issue. There’s too much to remember, and so much to get done, but there is a definite silver lining to all of it…
This is the last time.
What’s really helping me through right now, is knowing that all these local high school commitments have expiration dates, and knowing it’s okay for me to look ahead and be excited. I had so much fun where I was, but I know high school won’t be the best years of my life. Right now, I have a year of working in ministry and living in community with believers to work towards. Right now, there’s a whole world to venture out into, and I’m feeling ready for an adventure.
