Hi Everyone!

My name is Annie Bingham, and I am so excited to share this adventure with you! In this post I’d like to talk a little bit about who I am, and how I ended up here in World Race Gap Year.

I live outside of Chicago in northern Illinois, where seasons move fast, and lake-effect snow is always possible. My favorite season is summer, not only because that is when we are least likely to be stuck with freezing wind and rain, but also (and more importantly) because it is camp season. I spend most of my summers away from home at a few different summer camps and mission trips. I always feel my best when I’m doing work towards a common goal with other believers, so when I started to look into options for taking a year off of school, Gap Year seemed like a perfect fit! I love to travel and explore, and doing mission work at the same time makes this opportunity even more exciting to me.

When I’m not away at summer camp, I love to play and listen to music, try new coffee shops, play cards with my family,  bake, and go on adventures with friends. My extended family is very close, so I grew up in a large family setting. For years, all nineteen of us would rent a house together for a week in the summer. Some of my favorite memories from those weeks involve blueberry pancakes, sharing a room with my younger cousins, card games with my aunts & uncles, and learning how to play Mario Kart on my older cousins’ Gamecube.

I’m really looking forward to meeting the squad at training camp, and getting to serve all around the world with y’all 🙂

Thanks for reading!
