As I sit down to write this blog there is a song that is playing in my soul.

I will bring praise, I will bring praise

No weapon formed against me shall remain

I will rejoice, I will declare

God is my victory and He is here.

God has been calling me out since Thailand. He has been asking me to make Him my only strength. He has been pushing me to move, act, and speak from the place of His love and grace. And I am slowly learning. As the plane touched down in Nairobi, Kenya, He has spoken that this is the month. Now is the time and season that I will be learning His strength like never before. As I gain His strength, the song that I wrote before will become true of me. No weapon will be able to take me down as I praise Him and learn the truth of my place in His heart.

We are living in the country this month. Right outside of a city named Kitale. We shower using buckets and are learning to fetch our own water. We are learning how to make the foods that are so delicious and we walk mostly everywhere we go. So while you would think we would be overwhelmed with culture shock, this month has been a beautiful realization of the goodness of God in my life.

Our team has once again changed as our team leaders wife broke her foot in thailand. We have a brand new team leader who is fearlessly leading us as we evangelize to the neighbors that surround us. Once again God has asked each one of us to place our trust in God who is our provider rather than placing our foundation as a person. Thank you Jesus for your goodness!

The people in Kenya are quick to respond to the Gospel as most of them know about Jesus but we are praying that the seeds that are planted will truly produce fruit. We pray that God will one day send Kenyans to America so they can bring us some life and encouragement.

If there is a verse to sum up what I am thinking and feeling right now it would be this one

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song! Psalm 28:7

May new songs be in your heart and may your heart leap with joy as you place your trust in Him!
