I will finish up New Zealand thoughts in a few days but I started thinking about where I am and how it is impacting me so I had to write.  We have five days before we go to our ministry contact and God is allowing us to rest here at a YWAM base for that time. As I sit here on the floor of their office, I am blown away by what today held for us. I woke up to some hot muggy weather that was absolutely gorgeous. During our morning run, Kangaroos were bounding of the way ahead of us and we were surrounded by trees and flowers growing in every direction. Drenched in sweat we came back to a 3 minute shower and some amazing peanut butter and jam sandwiches.
My team went to the kitchen today to prepare dinner with our new friend
Maggie from Fiji. As we’re chopping up potatoes and onions for potato
salad, it suddenly starts to rain. Not just a light drizzle but a
downpour with lightning and thunder to accompany it. We had originally
planned to spend the evening BBQing at a lagoon about 20 minutes away
from here. But because God loves to interrupt our lives every once in a
while, those plans quickly changed with the rain. Instead we got tosit in this powerful torrent of rain and thunder and soak in God’s power. Oh the interruptions of our God… He is so good!!
Throughout all this there is a song that I keep singing in the last few days. I don’t even know the words except for the phrase “deep calls out to deep”. It’s like something deep in my soul is calling out to the depths of my Savior and enjoying His depth! So then I look up the phrase and I find that it comes from Psalm 42:7-8 “Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me- a prayer to the God of my life“. And I feel like that is what my soul is doing. Deeply crying out to the Lord of my life and enjoying His love and singing over me.
So I have truly been blessed! By my Creator and His power. By the people we get to interact with here in Australia and by the teams we are spending these next few days with. God is good and good all the time and my heart praises Him!!
