Oh where to begin? God is doing great things among and through His people! The group of us arrived at the airport with sleep still in our eyes unsure of where we are going or what we will experience in the next months of our lives. We felt nervous and excited and exhausted all while knowing that this crazy, adventurous God who we love is about to rock our worlds. And that’s when the work that was started at training camp began to be completed.
When I say God is rocking our worlds, I mean it! Many of us have never encountered this side of God before. We like the safe God who is in a box and somewhat under control. But this God… His mysteries confound us and His love heals and changes us! Places inside of us were broken but we had grown accustomed to that brokenness thinking it was just a part of us. But God has shown that His life truly is abundant. When we praise His name through singing, He meets us. He let’s us know His unfailing love for us and we are blown away by Him. He is infinite. He is out of our control. He loves us, oh how He loves us.
We are beginning to see the gifts He has given us that have lain dormant for most of our lives. When God speaks, we can hear what He is saying. His desire is for deep connection with our hearts and we are filled by His presence there. Where I say that my voice does not matter, God says that my words have impact on the spiritual world. Where I say I am broken and tattered, God says I am healed and filled with all the riches of His glorious kingdom. Where I say I can connect with God on my own without the help of anyone else, God says that my soul will die without community and all that comes with that.
As we prepared for this trip at launch, we were given a few more tools for understanding what is going to happen to us in the next months and we were refreshed. revived. rejuvinated. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His love endures forever!
