About me huh? Well to start small my name is Andrea Carol Manning but by friends call me Annie. Yes I have red hair and no I do not like the musical Annie and if you try to sing me “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow” prepare for pain. I am currently 23 years old though I look like I am about 12. Theatre is my game and costuming is how I play it. After graduating from Asbury University in 2013 with a BA in Art I set about wandering the country. I have moved 7 times in the past two and a half years and have done theatre work for everything from kids camps to large opera theatres.

I heard about the World Race my senior year of college. I knew instantly that it was something that I wanted to do. I had originally planned to go right after graduating but the timing wasn’t right so it kind of got put on the shelf. As I hopped about it was always in the back of my head and always something I intended to do, I was just waiting on the right timing.

This past August, shortly after returning to my current home in Orlando Florida, God began speaking to me about a change of direction. I had decided that when a route was released that had all the countries on it that I wanted to go to that it would be God’s signal that it was WR time. One day I was scrolling through facebook and saw that the August 2016 routes had been released. “Huh…. I wonder.” I looked through the routes and there it was, the August 3 route. Shortly thereafter I began the application process and then October 8th I got the call that I had been accepted.

I sat in Panera completely overwhelmed and flabbergasted. “This is happening… this is real life… I am going to travel the world for a year…”

I am beyond excited for this opportunity and can’t wait for what God has in store!
