We started our day at the South African Theological Seminary by painting the trim and windows around the administration building so we could use rollers on the walls. All of the trim was complete and the front of the building was rolled when we started rolling the sides and back of the building. We had scraped so much paint off, but the paint that was left on the wall began to peel off. The paint chips stuck to the rollers and reapplied themselves to the wall. Gibson decided that we must go back to scraping and sanding the walls. Once again we started scraping; I worked on one section about 3 inches in diameter and it took me 15 minutes to scrape all of the paint. Needless to say, I was pretty discouraged. The work we did on painting today was a waste because we now had to scrape all of it off. All of us were discouraged by the end of the day. In order to lift our spirits a little bit we paid a student to drive us to the local mall. I felt like I was back in the US as we walked passed the stores. All of the shops closed at 6:00, but we stayed to watch Ocean’s 13 at the movie theater. Tickets only cost $3.
