Why the World Race?

Good question. Very good question.

You are full of curiosity and I love it. I welcome curious thinking and will gladly oblige.

Now, Back to your question. Why? Why would you choose the World Race? Why leave my job? Why leave my friends and family? My church? Everything that I know and love?

Well, for me the answer is simple: I want to be obedient to God.

God did a lot of work on my heart last summer. He opened my eyes to loving people through his heart and he taught me about using my talents to glorify Him.

During this time God introduced me to the World Race.

I had never even heard of the race. I saw it as an ad on Facebook one day and was drawn to it. However, I never thought it was something that the Lord might be asking me to do.

But over time, I kept going back to the race. It was always found a way to creep into the back of my mind. That’s when I began to thoroughly research it and Adventures in Missions.

After a while of research and thinking about it, I finally mustered up the courage to ask God if this was something that he was asking of me.

I asked and God confirmed through my quiet times, sermons, prayer, and signs.

I even asked Him one day to keep my gas gauge on a certain number if her wanted me to go on the race, and guess what… He did!

I trust God and that He is working all things together for His glory and our good.

He introduced me to the race, confirmed my calling to it, and opened the door for me to go.

So, here I am.

I am excited about what God is going to do, how He is going to work, what He is going to teach me! I am astounded to have this opportunity. God has worked already so much in my heart through this season of preparation.

He has taught me that obedience doesn’t always have to be complicated. It doesn’t always require a 10 page thesis justifying why a particular action is valid.

God is God.He is omnipotent. He is sovereign. His word is infallible. If He says go, you go.

I can only imagine what God has in store for this next season of my life!
