We have been working at a church called New Life here in
Phnom Penh. This church is
incredible. I think I have grown
more spiritually than anywhere I have ever been. Like I think I’ve mentioned before, I knew nothing about the
power of the holy spirit before this trip. New Life gets it.
The first time I went, about 8 of us got slain in the spirit, the next
time I went, a demon manifested in this guy. Cool story about that…. We were in church one night and they asked if anyone needed
prayer after. There were a bunch
of people that went up but there was this guy, as soon as they started praying
for him, he went down. We all
initially thought he got overcome with the spirit. Oh no. Next
thing I knew, there were about 12 men holding this guy down. They were casting out a demon. A few of us went over and just started
worshipping over him. They ended
up praying over him for an hour and a half. The next time I went to New Life, that same guy came before
the church and told his side of what happened. A lot got lost in translation, but, he was not a
Christian. He had been coming to
church but was still checking it out.
He went up for prayer because his eye hurt. As soon as they started praying for him, he passed out. He woke up for a split second and saw
12 men holding him down. He passed
back out and had a dream. In his
dream he was running away from the demon and towards God. There was a chain around his ankle that
he cut off. He followed God’s
direction until he woke up and the demon was gone. He is now a Christian.
I love talking about spiritual warfare, I’m still learning
so much about it. God always
wins. I think that’s why I like it
so much. God is so much more
powerful. Just choose faith over
fear. When you have GOD next to
you, what can happen to you? I
also believe he uses all things for the good of those who love him. I twisted my ankle when we were
visiting Angkor Wat. I was so
frustrated and couldn’t walk for 2 weeks.
God taught me so much through that. He uses crap that happens to us to teach us. Satan thinks he has one on us but God
just laughs and says watch this….
And uses it to increase our faith and affection for him. We just have to choose faith over fear….
