Chris is in charge of the
hospitality center. That is one of
the offsite locations where they keep pre and post op patients. I was so blessed to meet this man. He let me tag along with him for the
time I was there. The majority of
the surgeries they do are to straighten legs and feet, cataracts, and dental
work. I just got to play and hang
out with all these children with casts up to their hips. I saw tumors the size of my head. There was a little girl there who
looked like she got half of her face blown off. No nose, one of her eyes missing. It’s amazing how far love goes. How much people are so
desperate for it and to know it’s
freely given. These people on the
ship are giving so much of themselves to Version:1.0
bring joy to another.
They aren’t just coming to fix and leave, especially with Chris, his
entire heart is in it. There was
this girl, she is about 14 years old.
She just had surgery and both of her legs were in casts up to her
hips. She had to go home early
because her mom sells mangoes and it’s mango season. She had to make money for her family. This girl had to go back to her home
made up of tin walls, tin roof and dirt floor. Chris extended his love and made a way for her to come back
to the hospitality center until her casts came off. I got to go with him to talk to her and her mom. It’s going that extra mile to make
people feel love.
Every Friday they have a party. There are over 30 cataract surgeries every day. That’s over 200 people every week who
can now see. Of course you throw
them a party. They all gather
under the tent and celebrate being able to see. These people haven’t been able to see in YEARS!! It was the most incredible
worship. They shouted out praises
and thanks to God.
