Let me set this up for you.  We have just been on a plane or hanging out in an airport
for at least a day.  I honestly
don’t know how long we traveled, time changes really mess me up.  We get in at noon Ghana time, 7 pm Asia
time.  We have every opportunity to
be grumpy, tired, etc.  The church
made that impossible.  We were
greeted at the airport by about 20 pastors and people in the churches we will
be serving.  ALL OF THEM CAME.  These people traveled hours, some from
about 14 hours north.  They greeted
us with hugs, helped us with our bags, gave us a ride to the hotel.  They had our names memorized and our
pictures in hand.  Turns out, they
have been getting together for weeks to pray for us.  There is so much color, personality and zeal for life here.

This is the church.
This is one body under God.
This is knowing they love me by a warm embrace.  THIS IS THE CHURCH!!!  There is no division in heaven.  That moment at the airport, I believe,
was a glimpse of heaven on earth.
The church knows no denomination, race or age.  Jesus has ONE bride.
The place that has unity commands blessing.  We are called to be one church.  I heard a wise man say instead of focusing on differences
within the church, let us focus on what we have in common.  Jesus Christ.  The cross.  This
isn’t about us… it starts and ends with the cross.
