Hello EVERYONE!  Sorry it has been so long…no internet.

For the month of May, Team Tandem and Team Waka lived on the top of a Swaziland mountain, 4,000 feet up at a children’s home called El Sheddai. We woke up to a beautiful mountainous view every morning and watched the sun set every evening. It was lovely.
It is winter in the month of May. However, our weather was quite different from winters in Canada. We had hot days and cool nights. After a couple of days, there was a huge thunder and lightning storm. We asked our contact if these storms were common for winter. She said she had never seen a storm like that in the winter season since she came to live in Swaziland 12 years ago, it doesn’t even normally rain in winter.

We watched the lightning skirt across the sky. It was amazing. The roofs on our cabins are tin so we couldn’t hear each other talking because it was so loud!

Throughout our time at the children’s home we saw 4 crazy thunder and lightning storms. AMAZING! They were so loud, the winds were fierce and the lightning extremely bright.

We were tutoring the children after school when one of the storms started.   It was perfectly sunny and then all at once the storm began. All of the children were scared, it started to hail, the power went out and then in an hour, it cleared up!

We asked our contact, Charmaine, again about the storms. She was still surprised. There are many witch doctors near the children’s home. She suggested that it was the witch doctors conjuring up demons. I know nothing about witch doctors or what they do. We did a prayer walk around the premises for God to protect us, and He did!

One night we were outside worshipping and there were storm clouds and rain all around us in a circle but not right where we were. It was AWESOME, beautiful and very strange. I hope that this strange weather got the King of Swaziland’s attention. We prayed for him every night that God would open his heart.

I pray that Swaziland was changed because God used us there!!
