Why Missions? Why the World Race? Really, the answer is quite simple.
Shortly after I surrendered my life to Jesus in 2011, I knew I wanted to do just that: surrender my life to Him. I wanted everything in my life –my major in school, my jobs, the people I dated—to be for God’s glory. His name and His renown was the desire of my soul (Isaiah 26:8).
Since 2011, the Lord has placed me in several ministry “positions”. I have been involved in various aspects of ministry (chaperoning youth trips, short term mission trips, working fugecamps and working at churches to name a few) and the Lord has grown me in incredible ways through each season.
The Lord perfectly orchestrated that I would be in each position for a set time until the next thing came along. I can look back and see how each of these stepping stones has prepared the way for me to be a part of something bigger. He is just so stinkin faithful to put us where we can best give Him glory, and my next step to do that is the World Race!
I want to bring glory to my Father. I want to look more like Jesus. I want to be brave and accept the abundant life He has promised His children. I want Jesus to take me deeper than my feet could ever wander on my own. His name and His renown is still the desire of my soul, the heartbeat of which I live my life, and that is why I’m going on the World Race!
