I wrote two blogs today! Be sure to check out the other one as well!

Yooo party people! I realized I’ve been doing a poor job of keeping you guys in the loop of what life looks like on the Race. So here you go! A fun practical blog from me. Imagine that I’m hugging you and that we’re talking over a nice steaming bowl of Poblano’s queso. Or a Chickfila sandwich. I’m not picky.
Let’s start with Tuesdays, as they’re my favorite. Tuesdays we wake up, have breakfast (usually a banana with peanut butter) and are in the prayer room of our church by 9. We pray and worship (there’s a guitar!) until noon. In the afternoons, we do practical work around the church. Around 4, (sunset :P) we go to the local Roma (gypsy) camp. The poverty is real and tangible and heartbreaking. I wrote a blog about it and you should read it if you haven’t! Lastly, we walk to the center of the city, guitars in hand, and pray over the Parliament buildings and a mosque that is under construction (but won’t be for long!). Then, we have dinner, team time, feedback, and we fall into bed exhausted but full.
Wednesdays, we do practical work around the church. We are supposed to teach English to Roma kids but they’ve never showed up. Some Wednesdays, we’ve babysat for one of the families at the church. Then team time, feedback, bed.
Thursdays are our adventure days! So far we have traveled to different cities and explored. First, we went to Kruja, which is a castle-y place with souvenir shops. Last week, we took a cable car up the Balkan mountains to go sightseeing. Then team time, feedback, bed.
Fridays are another day that we’re supposed to teach English but again, the Roma children have never come. Somedays we hand out sandwiches to Roma on the streets so they don’t have to beg, but mostly we just hang around the church. Friday nights, we do the youth ministry (middle school age), and usually only have about 4 kids. But oh are they a handful!! Then team time, feedback, bed.
Saturday mornings we wake up early and help with the AWANA (kids) program at the church. Saturday afternoons we go out and do street evangelism. Then team time, feedback, bed.
Sundays are probably the hardest and longest days. We wake up at 8 for worship practice (which is dope), then we lead worship, then children’s ministry/Sunday school, then coffee ministry/socializing with Albanians. Then team time and feedback. THEN at 6 we have to sit through a 2 hour Albanian church service, in which our team doubles the population of the congregation.
Mondays we rest. Movies are watched. Snacks are eaten. Laughs are had. Then we gear up to do it all again!
We leave for Kosovo on Wednesday! Crazy pants. I love and miss you guys so so so much. Let me know how your lives are and how I can be praying for you!
