Today is our last day in Bulgaria. Here are 11 things I did for the first time this month!
- Found lodging, food, and transportation for the first two weeks without a guide or translator
- Fit 8 adults on a horse + buggy cart
- Led worship with guitar to a congregation of Bulgarians using a microphone! (fear: I hate microphones)
- Used a squatty potty
- Been sick overseas
- Walked on a swinging bridge
- Ate sheep stomach (do not recommend)
- Experienced a church that speaks in tongues
- Purchased coffee out of a vending machine
- Slept in 11 different beds in one month
- Made a traditional Bulgarian breakfast by myself
Our time in Bulgaria was difficult, stretching, and one of the hardest things I’ve experienced so far. But it was also filled with a wonderful church family, God’s provision, and laughter! Tomorrow, we head to Romania to have a small debrief with our squad and then we will officially start month two! Be looking for a First Thoughts blog in the next few days!
