A big question you might have for me is why missions and why the Philippines? Great question! Let me answer!

The past couple years have brought a lot of change in my life. Starting college as a Musical Theatre student, I quickly became aimless in what I was called towards. For many years, I had been set on performing and ministering to the theatre world, but God had some other plans…as He tends to do.

The Summer after my freshman year of college I spent a week as a counselor at a local church camp by my hometown. During that week, God opened my eyes to a passion for His people I had been ignoring or not recognizing for quite some time. Whilst learning about this love to love other people God had placed on my heart, God used specific people and conversations during the week to break down what I needed to change.

The day I returned from camp, I made the decision to move home and direct my life towards ministry. Within the remainder of the Summer I had made the decision to pursue a degree in Ministry Leadership online (a very different route), devoting time to ministering to coworkers and volunteering within my new church family in different areas of ministry.

Whilst it is still unclear the specific area of ministry I am called to in the church, throughout the past year of schooling and getting involved, I have felt a calling to go overseas on mission (as many third culture kids long to do). Looking at countless opportunities in regards to trips, I was made aware that a simple week long mission would not be the best opportunity for growth. I wanted to truly invest in a community and a culture, learning as much as I could and establishing the best relationships I could along the way.

This led me to the World Race:Semesters opportunity. Spending a month alongside a community and a mission already established in the culture excites me so much! The Kid’s International Ministry in Manila will allow me to focus on not only children and ministering to them, but on establishing relationships and letting God’s love flow through me and through others. And if you know anything about me, you know this is essentially my heartbeat.

I am so incredibly excited to not only go on this trip, but to learn so much during this entire experience. God is already teaching me so much during this prepping process, so I can only imagine what He is going to teach me on the field!

So there you have it! That’s my answer to why missions and why the Philippines! If you want more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me, and if not…you’ll be hearing from me soon anyways.

Please keep praying and supporting, and I look forward to sharing more with you!
