happy thanksgiving from all the way in South Africa !! I am so thankful for each of you who have been a part of this journey supporting me and loving on me and keeping up with my blogs and social media posts !!
Thanksgiving this year is so different, it is 92 degrees with a South African sun that has burnt me to a crisp. Harleigh, Jack, and Skylar have cooked in the kitchen all day to create an American type meal with breads, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole (with a couple other dishes). We got to do sweet notes for all of our mega- team, Abide and Refinement and sit around a table like the true family we have grown to be.
With this community I have realized how much I care about the people I am surrounded by and how loved I am by them. So I am taking a small amount of time out of my day to write a list of things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving, cheesy I know:
- my squad and what each person has imparted to me thus far
- PERSONAL TIME, and if you know me that one might make you question my sanity
- air conditioning/ fans
- ice machines, Reags and I cried the first time we used that.
- movie nights
- ice cream !!
- nano, erinn, mason, bethany, and logan (our hosts rn)
- our sweet aunties that cook our meals and do the dishes
- leadership from the world race (ATLs, JODI, SQLs, and our sweet Coaches<3)
- ACACIAAAAAAA
- cold water during lunch at ministry
- the salvations and healings that we have seen during ministry
- dance party nights, thank you alex and william
- coffee that is not instant
- that one time colby gave me a side hug, if you know you know.
- the beautiful sunsets at Impact Africa Base, where we were living until today
- the flowers that line the communities
- that small perfume bottle that had somehow lasted me almost 4 months now
- american candy store at montecasino
- the bridges built between cultures and religions
- lightning storms
- the man on my flight to capetown who loves jesus
- shade during ministry (it’s in the 90s here)
- Psalm 139
- what the Lord has taught me about loving myself and my team
- Drew’s fried eggs on a late night
- my Family back home that has supported my every step while being here and loves me deeply in this crazy journey I threw them into
- MY TEAM
Lots of little things but World Race has taught
me to love the little. This life is sweet and slow. I am thankful for this.
