It’s finally real and I can now say that I am going on the World Race!!

So what is the World Race?

The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries. I will be spending a month in each country building relationships, serving others, and sharing Christ.

Starting next July, my squad will be heading to Albania, Romania, Malawi, Zambia, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile!

So why am I going on the World Race?

The first answer is that Christ calls His people to share Him with the whole world. This doesn’t mean that everyone needs to travel across the globe in order to share Him, but more and more over the past several months, God has been calling me to international missions. As I began praying about what this meant for my life, I kept finding myself drawn back to the World Race. I can’t wait to share Christ’s love with so many different people and witness God work in the global church!

There are so many different ways God has led me to the World Race, but another one of the reasons I have chosen to leave my home and go to all of these crazy places I’ve never been to before is because I have grown too comfortable. I’ve gotten so comfortable with my routine, with my stuff, and with my life. I want to be uncomfortable

I know that probably sounds crazy, but I have found that when I am comfortable, I am not growing. I feel like I have grown stagnant in my comfortable life, lukewarm even.

Sure, I will be living out of a backpack for 11 months with nothing to call my own other than what I can literally carry on my back. Sure, I will probably be sleeping on the floor and eating strange food at times. But more than this, I will be stretched to share when I feel uncomfortable, to be pushed out of my comfort zone, and to learn how to be bold for Christ.

Yes, the World Race will be an amazing adventure, but at times it’s going to be hard. And I’m okay with that. I can’t wait to see how God breaks me, shapes me, and molds me over these crazy 11 months.
