Today is 11/11, so in celebration of 11 countries in 11 months, here are 11 things God has been teaching me lately:

  1. Take time to enjoy the little things. Not every day seems like an exciting adventure, but every moment holds its own beauty.
  1. Remember to be thankful. God has given me 11 million reasons to be thankful. I should tell him more often.
  1. Don’t complain so much. It’s really not all that bad. Even the caf food.
  2. Don’t wish away the present. The future is exciting, but the present holds so many wonderful things.
  3. Don’t waste opportunities. God has put me where I am for a reason. Take advantage of it.
  4. It’s not worth stressing over. Years from now I probably won’t worry about what grades I made on all of those papers.
  5. It’s okay to be still. Life is busy, but it’s okay to take time to be quiet and enjoy God’s presence.
  6. Don’t worry so much about what others think. They honestly probably didn’t even notice that thing that I’m so freaked out about.
  7. Make the most of time with friends and family. I only have 8 months left before I leave (*sobbing*), so cherish every moment. (It’s okay though, I’ll come back!)
  8. Take interest in the lives of others. God has created so many wonderful people with such cool stories. Take time to listen.
  9. Trust God always. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.

These are definitely all things I am still working on and that God will continue to work in me. And I admit that I’m still pretty bad at some of them. This time during my last year of school and leading up to the World Race has felt like a period of waiting, but God has been teaching me so much.

A word for my supporters: Thank you all SO much for investing in me and partnering with me in this mission. Your continued prayers and support mean so much!
