Here I am sitting in San Salvador, enjoying the beautiful warm weather. It is the day before Thanksgiving and there are many things I have been thinking about. It is weird being here knowing that back home I am missing all the fall weather and the first snow fall in Maine. My parents and Aunt and Uncle flew out to Oregon to spend the day with Sarah and Andrew. Its kinda sad knowing that I won’t be able to be there with them on this day but I am trying to look on the positive side.

So this is me being positive……I am here spending this amazing month in one of the most gorgeous countries I’ve been to. I will be spending the day with my six new family members, and we will be sharing the day with new friends that we have met here in El Salvador. We are going to be able to eat turkey and we may even have some of the traditional fixings. I know it will be a good day. True, I will not be surrounded by my family, and I will not be involved in planning and cooking (my favorite part) the dinner but its ok with me cause I know that for this Thanksgiving the Lord has given me an ever better place to spend the day. I mean how many people can say that they spent Thanksgiving in El Salvador???? Not many. So this Thanksgiving I am thankful for His……..provisions, faithfulness, protection, love, blessings, peace, and guidance. All attributes of God that have taken on an even deeper meaning to me over the past two months.
So I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy turkey dinner, the Macy’s Day Parade and football of course! Next Thanksgiving I should be home again, but then again who knows where the Lord will lead me.
Until next time
