They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I think the same is true of any mission or journey. I may be the one going on this trip, but all of you are the ones that will help to make it happen.
I just want to take a minute to acknowledge and thank all of the wonderful people who have come beside me and supported me in my decision to go on the World Race. People are:
-Offering emotional and prayer support
-Offering advice from their own mission’s work and experiences
-Donating supplies (such as their old hiking gear from that time that they decided to hike the Appalachian Trail or their sleeping pad from their charity biking fundraiser)
-Using their talents and skills to help me make a support card (which should be here soon! I’ll share when they get here) and have photos to use as needed
-Helping me to do the tasks that need to be done to go (whether it’s finding deals on gear and understanding what I need, or helping me to figure out the best way to go about things)
-Agreeing to write guest blogs to help me communicate why this mission is important
-Hosting fundraisers
-Using their business skills to help raise money for the trip (we’ve got a make-up sale going on now- link below! and yoga lessons are in the works)
-Donating money (to sponsor a square or as a general donation)
-Becoming a monthly donor (all money is due December 2015, so if you’d like to become a monthly donor, please consider that when making your donation)
-Sharing about the trip and the World Race to people they know (I had a generous donation come in from someone I’ve never met, but heard about the trip from one of my friends)
-Going along side me. There are some amazing people that will be my squad mates and have loved getting to know them as we start preparing for the race together.
-Offering encouragement and sharing my excitement
So thank you. Thank each and every one of your for being my village. I’m excited to share this journey with you.

-If you’re local, come to my pie party on 3/14 (get it? ;D). Bring a donation and some pie, we’ll share our pies and the donations will go directly to the WR trip. If $314 or more is raised, I will let the highest donor (or someone else if they don’t care to) pie me! If you’re not local, but would like to see me pie’d-make a donation and let me know that you’d like it to count towards the pie total. If I get pie’d, I will get a video of it to post here and through facebook.
-Sponsor a square (full explanation in past post): Squares 1-100 are up for sponsorship and can be sponsored by a one time or monthly donation. If each square is sponsored, I will be a third of the way to fully funded. I’m asking those who are sponsoring squares 1-31 to consider making it a monthly donation and praying for me/my team and the mission trip on the corresponding day of the month (should you sponsor 1, pray for me on the 1st of each month). Thanks to those who have already sponsored a square!
