That’s right everyone! My squad and I arrived in Guatemala City after about 3-4 hours of flight time. Another hour by car to San Pedro, a suburb of Antigua, and my team and I have officially arrived at our house for the next month! My World Race journey is finally a tangible reality yayayay!
The only hiccup has been the failure of my bag to arrive, holding all my clothes, toiletries, and all the basic things you like to have everyday. Pretty much all of my stuff. Thankfully, I had my toothbrush and deodorant in my carry on, so I don’t smell like a filthy caveman…yet. Four day clothes going strong woohoo! My team has been supporting me by offering their belongings for whatever I need, and I should have my bag back by the end of the weekend, hopefully.
In terms of ministry, my team has been visiting high schools, teaching various things: what it looks like to have good morals and principles, question panels on dating and relationships, playing games etc. We’ve been having a blast! I’m finding my Spanish is pretty rusty, but hopefully it improves as the months in Central America go on. I keep having those moments like “I’m in Guatemala right now….WHAT” God is pretty great.
For a fundraising update, as of right now, I’m about 50 % funded! If you or anyone you know would be interested in donating, it would be much appreciated. That’s all I got for now, stay tuned for future updates!
Much love,
Anna
