Terrified. That’s the first word that comes to mind when I began this journey. I’ve never flown by myself, so my lone trip to Georgia was intimidating to say the least. On my way to the airport, I kept questioning my decision to go on the World Race and nearly begged my parents to take me home. But I kissed them goodbye and walked through the airport doors praying that I would find my way.

When they called for my section to board the plane, I got in the seemingly endless line. It was in this line when I was approached by a young woman also heading to Atlanta. She asked me about my t-shirt and I told her about the World Race. It turned out that many of her friends are a part of the program. We talked about my upcoming adventures and her journey interning at her church. When we landed, she asked for my blog so that she could be a part of my journey with the Lord. Wow. God is so awesome. He knew that I needed to cross paths with my new sweet friend Lauren at that exact moment. All glory, honor, and praise be to Him who gives us what we need before we even know that we are in need.

What an incredible kick start to an incredible journey at training camp! Never in my life have I ever been surrounded by such an amazing community who challenges me to be more like Jesus every day. never in my life have I been stretched so much and had my world rocked by God. I finally was able to meet the 48 awesome people who I will be ministering with over the next year. Boy did God outdo Himself with those beautiful people! Each day, we dug deeper into the Gospel and partook in various sessions to learn more about what it really means to be a disciple of Christ.

I could tell you story after story about camping with my new brothers and sisters in Christ or exploring in the Georgia clay, but that would take hours. I left for training camp 11 days ago and I came back changed in the best ways. The Lord has been preparing my heart for the incredible journey that I will be embarking on in just a few weeks. In fact, one month today I will be on a plane to India!! My heart is so full of love for the Lord and I cannot WAIT to share His love around the world. India, here I come!
