The other day we did some red light district and treasure hunting ministry with a team we are partnering with here in Nepal. Treasure Hunting, if you do not already know, is when you ask the Lord for a word, vision or direction then you try to find it. For my team we got the directions, pink shirt, pink rose flower and that we needed to go right. As we were walking we were also praying over the streets, when we came to this store that had a pink shirt hanging outside on display. So we went in and decided we would just see what was inside. We ended up talking to this girl who was working there for a while, and then she invited us to sit down and talk some more with her. We talked about how old she was, where she lives and about her family. Then she invited us to have tea with her, so we followed her to another store and were lead to the back where we sat down. We talked to the girl some more and asked her what her favorite flower was and she replied with, pink rose. The owner came back and sat down to have dinner with us and we got to talk to him about our relationship with God. He knew about religion, but we were able to talk to him about having a relationship with God. So we went back to the store to buy something and continued our conversation with the shop girl. Some of the girls on my team were telling the girl about Jesus and she said she had never heard of him. So we continued to share with her about God and then had to leave so they could close up the shop for the night. It was so cool to see how the different parts came together so we could share about Jesus for the first time with that girl.
After that, we started walking around and praying over the city. We started to go towards the Red Light District and I saw this lady with a beautiful baby, and talked to her for a while, and then turned around to see my team praying. There were these girls on the corner of the street and the their pimp across the street. One of the girls stood out to one of my teammates and she really wanted to talk to her. So I went with the guy on our team across the street and we prayed for them while keeping an eye out for the pimp of the girls. The other girls on my team started to talk to the girl we prayed over and eventually the pimp came over so Tyler, the guy with us, and Shelby one of the girls with us, started to talk with the pimp. After some time the girl had to walk away so she could continue her night. It was hard to see her leave, but still cool that we got to tell her about God.
The whole night was amazing, we were able to see how God had it all planned out and we just needed to follow His leading. We got to witness to people who had never heard about Jesus and those who had heard about Him but weren’t sure about having a relationship with God. We got to let His light shine in darkness and share His love everywhere we went.
P.S. I am heading to China tomorrow!! But I wanted to let you know I will not be blogging during my time there and also will be adding a password to my blog.
