We have made it to Sri Lanka after a great time in Indonesia! When we first got here, we had some time of debriefing with the whole squad. The debrief is a time to catch up with everyone, to hear what God has been doing in each team, and allowing time for us to reflect on what God had been doing in our life. To our surprise, we learned that we would be assigned new teams while in Sri Lanka. I am now on “Team Two”.

  This month is called gender ministry month. This means they separate the men and women into teams. So this month, all the men are on one team and the women were split into four teams. It helps us to grow and empowers us as women and men to focus on our identity in Christ. It also helps us to deepen our community with each other by getting to spend the month with new people.

  To be honest, when I found out we were switching teams I was a little sad because I loved my team and I had learned so much from them. As I spent time with the Lord, I realized it was easier if I stayed with the same team because I knew them and I knew my part on the team. I was getting too “comfortable.” Then the Lord told me that in addition to a time of growth, this month I would begin stepping into the gifting that the Lord has put in me with confidence.With what the Lord said I decided to embrace the change and get excited about joining the new team and all the new things I was going to learn from each person.

  Then I got another surprise. I was asked to be a team leader for the month. I could no longer just go along and follow, I would need to speak up regarding the direction the Lord was giving me for the team. No more staying in my comfort zone!

  We chose the team name (Team TWO) because we are 2nd to God and we did not want a name to define us. I am really excited about the members of my new team. They are amazing and there is no doubt the Lord will do great things in our midst. Over the past few weeks, it has been amazing to see the talents the Lord has placed in each one and how much they bring to the team. The Lord has started opening doors for the team and I am excited about the next couple of weeks as the events the Lord has organized begins to unfold.

Here is a picture of my new team!!

Please continue to pray:
1. For God’s protection on the team while we are here;
2. For God to keep directing our steps; and
3. For health for our team and all sickness to leave.

Thank you guys for taking the time to read my blog and pray for my team.
