As I prepare for my upcoming mission’s trip and all it holds, I am beginning to realize that I am stepping into a lot of unknowns. For example, what is it going to be like to live out of a backpack for 11 months? What will it be like being away from family and friends? What will it be like to stay in one place for only a month? What is the full plan God has for me for this trip? Where is the money going to come from?
I could go on and on, however I think you get the idea. Then I realize, this is what faith is all about. As a result, I am finding myself listening to more messages on faith and looking for bible studies about faith. I guess the best way for me to define the kind of faith I need to build is the kind that will withstand stepping into the unknown and trusting God along the whole journey. Faith for me is believing in the impossible to happen and knowing that God is in control. I know that no matter what happens, God is the author and finisher of my life. I believe it is in the impossible situations that you see God’s faithfulness. I am not just building this faith for myself but building the faith that is motivated by love and compassion; that is willing to do what it takes to help the people God is calling me to. I am excited to dare to step into the unknown in faith for what God is calling me to do!
