So if you haven’t seen my recent posts on Facebook and Instagram you probably missed that I’ve been in Bucharest, Romania for the past few days. We had our squad debrief here with our mentor and coaches. It’s been pretty fantastic.
We stayed in hostels (which was my first hostel experience!) and I loved every single second of it. It’s been a dream of mine to travel Europe and stay in all the fun hostels along the way. So the day I realized I was standing in a hostel with a pack on my back was the coolest realization ever. I’m getting to live my dream right now!
My favorite part of this experience was getting to meet the people staying there who were literally from all over the world. I met people from Israel, New Zealand, Germany, and many more! I love getting to know people and seeing their different perspectives.
My favorite person to talk to was a guy names Moses from Zimbabwe. I loved seeing his perspective on the world, life, and his faith. He told me about how he had been hurt pretty bad by the church and how that has affected his view toward religion and Christianity. With that I had the opportunity to share a little bit of my testimony and tell him there’s a big difference between religion and a personal relationship with Christ. I may not have changed his mind and led him directly to Christ in that moment, but I was able to give a new perspective that had him believing there could be more to Jesus than what he’s been shown in the past. It also opened my eyes to how many people view Christianity and how we’ve basically ruined the reputation of the church. We have a hole to dig ourselves out of here.
I aim to show the world the real side of Christ, who is full of compassion and redemption for sinners, because that’s what we ALL are. And everyone deserves the chance to hear about Jesus and how much He cares for us. We all deserve to be treated with dignity, no matter what your sin is.
Now I am currently sitting on a train making my way to Dragonesti-Olt, Romania. I know we will be working in a gypsy community, however I don’t know what ministry will look like.
Also, surprise! I have been given the opportunity to spend a week in Greece doing some ministry there. So August 3-10 I will be in Thessalonica, Greece. So it’s no longer #11n11 but #12n11. Holla.
Fundraising Update!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the gun raffle! I believe we raised somewhere around $1300-1400! This will put me a little over $9000!! My next deadline to reach is on October 1st where I will need to have at least $11,000 in my account. Please keep this in mind as you pray and see if the Lord leads you to give. It is always appreciated J
Thank you all for your prayers and your support. I’m having the best time of my life sharing God’s love all over the world. Pumped for month 2!
