Before Tim and I left the squad on January 1, I read them a commission I wrote to them for the rest of their time on the Race. It’s what I’ve learned from my experiences and mentors over the past two years. It was hard to say goodbye, but I am praying and hopeful that they will go on to do greater things.

It’s a bit long but I think you’ll find it worth reading.

To the Saints of the R-Squad:

It has been a joy and honor to walk beside you these last
four months. Like I said at training camp, I will not walk in front of you and
guide you every step, and I will not walk behind you and watch you, I will walk
this journey beside you, and I have every step of the way. I have been praying
for you since before some of you even knew you were going on this Race and my
prayers will not cease even once I’m not physically with you.

Here is my biggest piece of advice: Never wish away one
moment even if you’re having a hard day. You’ll never get that moment back.
Cherish each moment as a gift from God. Don’t think about how hard your day is
or what you will do, but how easy Christ’s yoke is and that He bears all our
burdens.

The number one reason you’re on this planet is to BE loved.
Let Him love you. Love is the highest possible standard. And as you understand
the love of the Father, love and honor your brothers and sisters. Jesus was
full of grace and truth. He never made a decision based off what other people
deserved, but off His character. He is good. Make decisions based off who you
are and not your environment. Speak up when you hear injustices. The opposite
of love is not hate it’s indifference.

Don’t dwell on what you haven’t got, dwell on what you need
to give away. Your needs are met as you meet someone else’s. Be servants of one
another. There’s a difference between choosing to serve and being a servant. If
you choose to serve you get to pick who, how, and when you want to do it. A
servant is available and vulnerable to do anything. Just as marriage is two
people intent on out serving each other, you goal should be to out serve your
team. Biblical servant hood is deigned to magnify the gospel of Jesus Christ
for the glory of God, and to benefit others. It’s motivated by grace, not to
check a box. Constantly be adding value to others lives. Live as though you’ve
been forgiven. When you know that you can give forgiveness.

Cultivate a heart of thankfulness in all you do for this is
the key to Gods presence. God longs to dwell where His people are thankful and
God loves when you pray His promises. The complete priority of your day is to
live in His complete presence and this is the first thing you bring to the
table. Do it through a thankful heart.

My heart longs for each of you to walk in your royal
callings, like a prince or princess of the living God. To know who He says you
are. You carry the DNA of heaven. You were born to be Christ on this planet.
The more you look like Jesus the more you look like your true self. He knows
your name so you should also know yours. The greatest day of your life should
be when you are happy with who you are. The glory of God is man fully alive.
Don’t strive to be accepted, but stay faithful to who you are. When you try to
impress people you steal from yourself and your own personality. When you know
that you know, that you know, that you know, who you are you don’t need to
prove anything. It’s not about being important in the eyes of men, but in the
sight of God. Don’t do thing for approval but from approval. The tyranny of
public opinion will keep you locked into mediocrity for the rest of your life.
Walk in humility knowing that everything you have comes from the Lord. The more
God conscious you are, the less self conscious you are.

Be aware of the impressions you give off to people. Whether
it’s life or death, you always have something coming off of you. Bring life.
People want to see somebody who actually believes it. Where somebody needs it,
have it. The world is waiting for you. All that needs to happen for evil to
prevail is for good men to do nothing. You are a blessing. God came to redeem
humanity. Every human has been redeemed they just don’t know it yet. Be grace
and truth so they can be real.

Focus not on the darkness, but on the light, which you can
bring. Darkness is nobody shining, but you shine like the stars in heaven. The
problem isn’t the darkness that is present; the problem is the light isn’t on.
When you walk into a room it should light up.

Don’t go down into silence. Silence is for unbelievers. When
you believe it something you will speak it out. Listen to the truth of heaven,
not the lies of hell.

Live a life of worship. Take dance, shout, and sing out of
the psalms and you only have about 20% left.

You will encounter hardship this year. Embrace it. The
storms of life oxygenate your soul and let you breathe deeper. Don’t be afraid
of failure. A bad run is better than a good stand. A black mark on your record
is not trying and failing, it’s losing your integrity while trying. Your
attitude can change things. Live your life confidently and know that no matter
what situation you walk into who has your back. So much can change if you walk
into a situation confidently than timidly. Facing something bad isn’t as much
as how you deal with it. And if you ever feel like giving up pray for someone
else. They may be having the same thoughts as you.

God speaks and dead things come alive. The word is on your
lips. A prophetic word has to cause you to love God and love people. It’s shame
off of you. His voice is not an exposing voice but a redeeming voice. It will
always pull you into covenant with Him.

Walk in the grace that God has given you, but remember grace
doesn’t overlook sin, grace deals with it. Let the grace of God wash over you
and change you, for you have been made righteous through Christ. Righteousness
has nothing to do with being right or wrong, it means being in a right
relationship.

This generation needs something only you can provide.
Release to others what God has placed inside of you. “Your gifts are for me and
mine are for you and together we can bless the world.” Sprinkle kingdom into
everything you do. God’s looking for a generation that won’t just survive, but
go to the nations and grab their inheritance. Be that generation. Ask God for
big things that only He can do and have the faith to believe He can do them.

Live lives of purpose, passion, joy and release. There has
to be something in you that is never satisfied. Dream big. What if all the
favor in your life is connected more to your dreams than your circumstances?

Give heaven something to cheer and hell something to fear.

I cannot express to you the joy that you bring to my heart
and how proud I am of you all. I’m excited to hear reports from you as you go
deeper into covenant with each other and our Father this year. You are
absolutely incredible!

Love,

Diana Christ
