Hey guys! If you don’t already know me my name’s Anna Redderson and I will be going on the nine month mission trip, World Race: Gap Year, leaving in August! I will be spending this next year with other students ages 18 to 22 serving those in need across the world, and spreading the Word of God. We will travel to Albania in the Balkans, the Philippines, and South Africa, where we will stay for three months in each!
I always planned on attending college right after high school, however, God had another plan for me. I was not excited about going anywhere I had applied, and was still unsure of what I wanted to major in. I wanted to be able to have time where I could figure out who I was, and what God was calling me to do with my life. I began looking into gap year programs that including traveling, serving others, and serving the Lord. When I found World Race, I knew that was the next step I needed to be taking with my life. I could not stop researching the program, and wanted to know more and more about it. After a long application and interview process, I received the news that I got accepted!
Now that I have been accepted and have actually committed to this journey, it is all becoming so real to me. The reality of it all is really starting to kick in. I will be leaving my friends, family, and comfort zone for nine months. I will be spending my next year with new people in unfamiliar places. While my friends all go off to college, I will be doing something entirely different. Although this can be very scary, I am so excited to see what God is going to do in my life. I know that this time away will help me discover what God’s plan is for me, so that when I return home, I will know what my next step in life should be.
