It has officially been two weeks since I arrived in Guatemala! I have been living in a house with 42 other people in a small town right outside of Antigua, and it has been the best time. I never would of guessed just how beautiful it would be here! The weather is perfect, and we have been blessed with beds AND hot water. Our host put together a comedy show to raise money for books to use in the local schools, and my teams job was to sell these tickets. This may seem like a pretty simple ministry, but attempting to speak Spanish and sell the tickets at such a high price made it much more difficult. I was expecting to teach students and work in schools like many other teams, but finding out I would have to go up to strangers and speak a language I barely knew, terrified me. The short amount of time I have spent here has helped me grow so much. I have really had to put others before myself, and before my time. Working in schools or seeing the city would of been my ideal way to spend my day, but serving my host was so much more rewarding.  I have not only sold tickets, but also painted a school bus, and got to see a lot of the Guatemalan culture. These two weeks in Antigua serving and growing with my entire team have been AMAZING! Today I will get on a bus for four hours with my team of seven and head to Quiche, where I will be spending the next two months! More updates to come! Please continue to keep my team in your prayers as we travel to a new place and meet all new people! (ps sorry for the lack of details and for any grammatical errors) 🙂
