I wanted to take a moment and catch you all up on how I’ve been spending my summer so far!
I started June off with a bang, my good friend and I went camping up in northern Minnesota. This was our first camping adventure together and I loved it! Lake Superior is gorgeous and it was wonderful to recuperate from a intense school year by taking time to slow down, enjoy nature and each other.
The first stop on our road trip was Duluth, MN. We ate lunch, endured some drizzling rain, and watched the lift bridge in action.

After the first night of camping, we drove to Palisade head and took in the breathtaking scenery. I took the picture above especially for my dad who is not a fan of heights. It’s important for me to keep him on his toes!
Soon after returning from camping, my parents and I drove to Michigan to visit the extended family for two weeks. Unfortunately, we didn’t have our camera so there are no pictures of that trip. Needless to say, it was wonderful spending time there.
The first week of July I served in Sault Ste. Marie, MI with a group from my church for a missions trip. After arriving home, I celebrated the Fourth of July (and my 18th birthday) with my family and some close family friends.
Since then I have been preparing for training camp and buying supplies like a madwoman. I leave on Saturday for Georgia. Please pray for little/no rain, unity with the team, and safety during training. Thanks!
