This time last year I was starting out my senior year of high school. I had just heard about the World Race: Gap Year and was considering it as an option for my post-high school plans. I was looking at colleges, interviewing for scholarships, and coping with the oh-so-real condition that is senioritis

This time last year I had lunch at Jersey Mikes with my dear friend and mentor Andi Justice. I asked her to lunch in order to get some advice about what I felt the Lord calling me to do. Here, she encouraged me to follow God’s call in joining Adventures in Missions on the World Race: Gap Year.

A lot can change in a year.

Last Tuesday, I had lunch at a pizza restaurant in Hickory, NC with Andi Justice Workman. Here, I said my last goodbye to her as the length of time before I embark on my nine month journey grew shorter and shorter.

All of which has led me here, a mere seven days before I go to Atlanta to start the adventure that the Lord is calling me to.

Today, I became fully funded. This means, I have all of the money necessary for me to serve on this trip! The Lord has been so faithful to me in this. I have been amazed at how the Lord has provided.

I am so thankful for all of you who have been in prayer and for those who have trusted me with your finances. It means so much that the Lord has surrounded me with such a solid group of believers that are willing to send me out to bring the kingdom to the edges of the earth.

I ask that you continue to be in prayer over my preparation for this trip. Also, I encourage you to read through the blog posts of my squad mates which you can access through the ‘Meet my Squad’ tab on the left side of this page.

Announcements:

  • Because checks take a few weeks to process, my blog cite will not show that I am fully funded for a few weeks
  • From here on out, donations made to Adventures in Missions on my behalf will go to AIM’s general fund rather than me directly. For this reason, if you have yet to donate and feel called to do so, checks should be made out to me. Money sent to me will be used to offset the costs of vaccinations, gear, and other incidental costs that my arise while I am on the field. Feel free to contact me for my address or if you have any further questions.
